ZANETHEMBA CHARITY FOUNDATION  

Zanethemba (Xhosa: ‘to bring hope’) is a children’s charity located in Port Elizabeth, Leo & Stripes’ hometown. It is a devoted safe haven for abused, abandoned, neglected or orphaned children. Zanethemba provides therapeutic services, education, nutrition, access to medical assistance, and most importantly, love to children who need it most.

Leo & Stripes is proud to support this worthy cause. We believe it is our duty to protect vulnerable children by helping to create an environment in which children feel safe, can thrive, and be loved.

THE PUMBA SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY & CONSERVATION FOUNDATION

One of the biggest modern challenges we face today is how to conserve nature and wildlife. Status symbols made from elephant tusks, “medicine” produced from rhino horns as well as exotic trophies from wildlife hunts have increased the degree of illegal poaching taking place on the African continent. This has resulted in an alarming number of endangered and highly threatened species.

Leo & Stripes takes pride in supporting the Pumba Social Responsibility and Conservation Foundation, which is, amongst other projects, dedicated to ensuring the existence of white lions in the wild. White lions are not only one of the most majestic species in the world, but also one of the most endangered.

Today, there are hundreds of white lions in captivity but less than 30 living in the wild. As a direct result of the conservation efforts at Pumba Private Game Reserve, they currently have eight free-roaming white lions in their conservation reserve.
